The Anniversary Give-AWAY!!

Exactly one year ago I wrote my first blog entry..again. It felt great to get all of that out, and I was pretty proud of myself for returning to it and writing a second, and a third and so on. Fifty-one entries later and I am addicted to blogging and in love with the people that I've met along the way.

For me, this was a way to both journal my feelings and also meet people along the way who are in the same boat as us. The outcome of this adventure is nothing short of a miracle. The friends I have made, the lessons I have learned, the laughs I've shared and the tears we've all cried have made this whole journey...remarkable.

This year, you guys have made me feel so great about being a mom, being a mom to a boy with Spina Bifida, being a wife and being...me.

As a thank you, for coming back even when I talked about our mouse infestation and when I posted pictures of Roman's filthy little knees. Or the best day ever when I added George Harrison's "I got my mind set on you" to my music play list I have decided to give a little back..

in the form of...

Are you ready?!

A GIVE-AWAY!

To be entered in the give-away simply comment below, or on our facebook fan page ONE THING you have learned this year.
It could be something you learned from me, something you learned from your mail person, something your kid has taught you.
Anything memorable you have learned this year, tell me and I'll enter you in the contest!

THAT my friends, is simple.

And the winner will receive a 50 dollar gift certificate to Ashbdeisgn, Our crafty little friends who will later be making Baby Potter #3's diaper bag. I don't know which excites me more, the third child or the diaper bag. (Kidddingg!!)
Need a purse? Travel Bag? Ipad bag? Diaper Bag like me? The winner will get 50 bucks to spend at their leisure!

But to me, the real gift is getting to know the woman behind the squiggles and swirls and pretty fabric patterns. She's a nice lady with tons of talent and an adorable, furry assistant. Check out her facebook page HERE to see what this lady can do. You will be SUPER impressed! I promise!

Good luck everybody! The winner will be announced on Friday October 1st, before we move into our brand new internetless house!!

And once again, thanks for sticking with me.

  1. :) Congratulations!! That is exciting... crazy how these blogs have become so important to us. I've learned that I am not alone. That others share my journey. I've learned what a blessing that is and I've learned were strong when we stand together. :)

  2. I've learned a great lesson in life from you and Jason my dear Reekie. This lesson is a big one. You two along with the Izzard and my little trooper Roman have shown not only me but hopefully everyone that no matter what twists life throws at you in your journey through it's roads they can and will be overcome with time, patients, and best of all love. I think it is great that you two have choose to introduce another child into our lives when others have thought it wasn't. For this lesson your family has shown myself and others is what makes The Potter's the great loving family it is today. P.S. I ask not to be entered into your contest. Love Always Your Brother Mike

  3. I thought I would post because you inspired me to tell everyone what I have learned this year. I wish others would realize this. Its not about me. Sounds so easy right? Its one of the hardest lessons I am still learning actually. Its not about me. Pay it forward, think of others before yourself, as a mother and a friend Im sure you understand. These things are all wrapped in this simple yet deep truth. If you make it all about you then you miss out on the love and joy that others can show you. Going out of your way to help others, to give to encourage them when they are blue. To give when you have nothing to hand them, these are all involved with the "its not about me" lesson. I hope this helps someone. It has helped me immensely. Reekie, its been over 7 years since we last saw eachother and I miss you greatly. Love, shalane

  5. I joined late, but I'm still a fan, and I enjoy your blogs!
This year I've learned that enjoying my children's company and taking the time to be goofy is more important than the pile of dishes or the mountain of laundry. :)
